In a new interview with Variety, Embark Studios founder and CEO Patrick Söderlund announced a partnership with production company Chernin Entertainment aimed at “creating rich transmedia experiences in the universes of ARC Raiders and The Finals”. He also stressed that Embark’s creative teams will work closely with the Chernin crew to ensure the upcoming adaptations stay true to the creative vision of the source material.
The report doesn’t include any concrete details about the plot, release date or which franchise will become a film and which a series. For now, all we know is that both The Finals and ARC Raiders will get some kind of screen adaptation.
ARC Raiders launched in October 2025 and quickly became hugely popular. The game has sold more than 16 million copies and won a host of awards. Its popularity has dipped somewhat since then, but an adaptation could draw in a new audience.
The Finals is a free-to-play first-person shooter that has racked up more than 30 million registrations over the past three years. According to Steam statistics, it has around 75% fewer players than ARC Raiders.
